Privacy Policy.

Who we are

The Skate Board (theskateboard.co.uk) is a free, community-run listing of roller skating events, lessons and gear recommendations in Leeds & West Yorkshire. It's run independently, not as a registered business.

Information we collect

If you use the "Submit an Event" form, whatever details you enter (event name, date, venue, your contact details if you provide them) are collected via Fillout, the third-party form provider we use, so we can review and publish the listing. See Fillout's own privacy policy for how they handle that data.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the site is used, including pages visited and how people move around it. Microsoft Clarity may record sessions and clicks. We also show adverts through Google AdSense. None of these run unless you accept our cookie consent message. Full details are in our Cookie Policy, and you can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

There's no user account system on this site, and we don't process payments directly — donations via Buy Me a Coffee and purchases via Amazon affiliate links happen entirely on those third parties' own sites, under their own privacy policies.

How we use your information

Event submission details are used solely to review, format and publish the listing, and to contact you if we need to check something before it goes live.

Analytics data is used to understand how the site is used and to improve it. Advertising data is used by Google to show ads, and to personalise them where you have allowed this. We don't sell your personal information.

Cookies

See our Cookie Policy for the cookies we use and how to control them.

Third-party services

• Fillout — powers the event submission form.
• Google Fonts — loads the typefaces used on this site.
• Amazon Associates — gear page links and product images are served from Amazon; purchases through these links may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you.
• Google Analytics — usage statistics, used only if you accept. See Google's privacy policy.
• Microsoft Clarity — heatmaps and session recordings, used only if you accept. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
• Google AdSense — shows adverts on the site, personalised only if you allow it. See Google's privacy policy.
• Buy Me a Coffee — an optional donation link, hosted entirely on their own site.

Event information & affiliate links

Event dates and times were correct at the time of publishing. Venues and organisers may change them afterwards, and we are not responsible for changes made after publication. Times, prices and availability can also change without notice, so always check with the venue directly before travelling. Gear recommendations are genuine, but we're not responsible for the products, pricing or delivery of anything bought through an outbound link, including Amazon affiliate links.

Data retention

Submitted event details are kept for as long as they're relevant to the listing (and a short while after, to avoid re-processing duplicate submissions), then deleted.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop using it. Get in touch using the details below.

Children's privacy

This site isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if what we collect or how we use it changes — most likely when analytics tracking is switched on.
